Résumé : Part 1: We show that the Flajolet-Soria coeffcient extraction formula for algebraic series can be deduced from a theorem of Furstenberg, with which we can prove that the formula is valid for all fields and not only for the complex field.
Part 2: We present a method of finding infinite products involving block counting functions in any base. This is a generalization of the work of Allouche and Shallit, where the result applies to base 2.
